About the event
Date and Time: Tuesday, March 17, 2020 Noon to 2:00 p.m. (Please bring a lunch for yourself, if you so wish) Location: Upper Room, Strathearn United Church
We’ll begin with information regarding the intent of the original writers of these passages, then move on to discussion of what it means for us today. Questions to consider might include: • Does the concept of sacrificial atonement on the cross fit for us today? • What did Jesus mean by, “I die to free you from sin”? We may also consider the theology of “the 4th world”, that is, our ancestors and what it means to have a theology imposed on us that we may no longer find relevant?
At Strathearn United Church, our Christian Development studies offer opportunities to challenge and expand our understanding of our faith in today’s world. In a respectful, comfortable and supportive environment, we meet to listen, question, discuss and reflect on topics that consider the contemporary nature of our faith. All are welcome to attend.
