About the event
The UC began in 1925 as a coalition of three churches: the Methodists, the Congregationalist, and Presbyterians. Each church brought their missions, schools, hospitals, and social centres to the collaboration. It was a global time of social and economic turmoil.
The blended beliefs of the new UC were first laid out in a creed known as the Twenty Articles of Doctrine. It cast a vision to help congregations breathe life into the new United Church. Since that time the UC has struggled and grown. And our statement of faith has evolved with it, to help capture who we were and who we wanted to become.
Join us for a discussion of Christian credence statements. And explore how changes in the United Church and the world around us, have evolved our statements of faith over the past 100 years!
